Women at risk of developing Diabetes may want to consider increasing their folic-acid intake. Women who have gestational diabetics are more likely to later develop type 2 diabetes. If you’ve had gestational diabetic or been told that you may be at risk of developing diabetes, you should eat a diet rich in folic acids. Folic acid reduces the amount of fat in your blood.
Folic acid is known to help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. A person who has a lower blood fat level is also less likely to be obese. Type two diabetes is a common condition caused by obesity. Decreased blood fat levels can help to reduce diabetes risk.
