Excavating the Swamp Ghost
The soldiers were surprised that the Swamp Ghost was still in remarkably good condition, despite its long exposure to weather and open air. The machine was fully loaded and still in its place.
Salvage operations were not completed until 2006. Tallichet and Hagen were proud when they finally excavated the entire aircraft. They were in front of a piece of aviation history.
