16.Sucking is Pleasant
Sucking is beneficial for a child’s oral health. When they suck on a nipple, they will be strengthening their jaw muscles, which can aid in the proper development of their mandible and teeth. Because of this, a correlation has been established between breastfeeding and the likelihood of requiring orthodontics as an adult. In summary, if your child is breastfed, they are less likely to require this type of tooth realignment.
This is intriguing, however, because a child who suckers on their thumb can actually cause more problems for their teeth by drawing them forward into a less functional and aesthetically pleasing arrangement. Similarly, although infant bottles have “teats,” these do not appear to function in the same manner.
