Tuberculosis: 14 signs and symptoms

5. Changes in appetite

The most common symptom of a TB infection is a change in appetite. This usually involves eating less or not eating at all. It’s often a result of other symptoms the patient experiences.

If you suddenly notice a change in your appetite, it doesn’t necessarily mean that tuberculosis is imminent. Other things, such as digestive problems or generalized illnesses, can also affect your appetite. If you have a persistent fever and cough, you should ask your doctor to test you for TB.
