Negotiating can be embarrassing in a foreign country. It’s important to get out of your comfort zones and do your research before you leave. Check the price of common items such as lodging, food and entertainment before your trip.

Knowledge is power. If you feel someone is trying to take advantage of you by giving you foreign prices, then you should stand your ground. Negotiate the price until an agreement can be reached. As long as you remain respectful, there is nothing wrong with standing your ground.
