The massive mastiff breed, originally from South Africa, was bred to guard homes and farms. The mastiffs were a first-line defense against predators, and they often helped to track and hold down wounded prey. The breed is known for its loyalty and protection of the family.
18. Dogo Argentino
The Dogo Argentino was originally bred for hunting in Argentina. It is a large white dog with a muscular build that can hunt wild boars and pumas. Although strong and athletic, these dogs are not aggressive towards humans. In the United Kingdom, it is against the law to own a Dogo under their Dangerous Dogs Act of 1992. This law makes it clear that Dogos should not be taken lightly.
