8. Pain in the Night
Sleeping problems can occur when a person has a torn labrum. This is because pain can become worse at nights. It could be due to different movements made during sleep. People who sleep with their arms raised above their head may feel pain when they try to sleep in that position.
The pain can worsen if a person lies down on the shoulder affected by a tear in the labrum. It can be hard to sleep or rest when a labrum is healing. Wearing a sling while sleeping can reduce some of the discomfort as it immobilizes and rests the arm.
It is important that you tell your doctor if you have difficulty sleeping due to pain. They may prescribe a sleeping aid to help. You may find that taking an anti-inflammatory medication before bedtime can help you to sleep better.
