There are 14 causes of bedwetting in adults
13. Sleep Apnea
Despite the fact that they may seem unrelated, sleep apnea can also be a cause of adult soiled bed sheets. Sleep apnea patients have difficulty breathing throughout the night. The brain then focuses more on maintaining respiratory function, and neglects other bodily functions such as bladder control. Sleep apnea patients are more likely to be wet in bed as an adult.
The tonsils can be removed in some cases of sleep-apnea. It’s important to note that, contrary to popular belief, tonsil removal is not effective for all cases of bedwetting. Only those caused by sleep-apnea are affected. Sleep apnea is also characterized by morning headaches, drowsiness and bedwetting. Consult your doctor if you suspect the bedwetting may be due to sleep apnea.
