5. You can adjust your head
You can reduce snoring by raising the head of your mattress a few inches while keeping your airway wide open. A neck brace similar to those used for whiplash can help reduce snoring. This brace keeps your chin out so that your throat does not bend and your airways remain open. A soft foam brace will do just as well as a rigid plastic one. A mouth appliance that prevents snoring by moving your lower jaw forward and your tongue may be the solution.
A little snoring is not a big deal, but a lot of snoring could be an indication that you suffer from OSA (Obstructive sleep Apnea), a condition where your breathing stops during sleep for a brief period due to a blockage in the windpipe. You should consult a doctor if this occurs. You may also experience headaches during the day as well as excessive sleepiness and difficulty concentrating.
