Shin Splits: 14 symptoms
8. Pain on the Shin
Shin splints can cause pain not only in the shins but also along the muscle line that runs adjacent to the shin. This pain can occur on only one side. It is also common to experience it in both.
If you have pain in your shins, or near them, see your doctor even if there are no other symptomsalong with it. Make an appointment if you feel severe pain near your shins. If you wait until the pain goes away, you could end up with a serious injury.
Massage can relieve pain associated with this condition, but will not eliminate the cause. Consult your doctor to find out what treatment options are available for your symptoms. Most treatments don’t involve surgery and can be simple.
