12. Additional Injuries as the Result
You may be more likely to suffer further muscle injuries if you’ve had shin splits. This is because the first injury could have caused you to experience shin splits. Many people will overcompensate by exercising other areas of their body to compensate for the pain.
You should avoid strenuous exercise until you see a doctor and are sure that the injury has healed.
You can either prolong the healing time of your injury or cause further damage by doing anything else.
