10. Stay upright after eating
Nausea is not always caused by a medical condition. Sometimes, it can be as simple as the way you sit or sleep. After a meal, some people prefer to lie down and take a nap. It may seem like an easy way to digest your meal and relax, but this can cause nausea and upset stomach.
Acids in the stomach, which break down food, can flow backward when you lie down. This can lead to severe stomach pain and nausea. Some people may even feel a burning in their stomach and throat.
Standing up while eating or afterward is a good idea. Sit up straight and with better posture if you are unable to stand. Standing up and moving about after eating can also help some people feel better, even if the nausea has already begun.
