6. Photophobia
Does the term ‘light sensitivity’ refer to an increased sensitivity to light or is it a medical term? This could be due to injury and not viral meningitis. A corneal scraped region is a common injury that causes Photophobia. If there is a scratched area in your cornea it will allow more light to enter the receptors, making you more sensitive to bright lights.
If you are still feeling oversensitive to the light despite having no history of photophobia or having endured any injuries to your eyes, it could be due to viral meningitis.
You can start by having an optometrist check your eyes to see if there are any corneal scraped areas. If not, you should visit your primary physician to check for viral meningitis.
