10. Expanding lymph nodes
This is a common sign that can be attributed to many different types of illnesses and infections. Nodular growth is similar to a fever in that it’s the body’s way of fighting off an invasion.
In the lymph nodes, the body tries to capture microorganisms and diseases. The primary lymphnodes are located behind the ears, behind your jaw, under the arms and in the neck. However, there is a line of lymph nodes that run throughout the body, and growth can occur anywhere along the line.
In cases of meningitis the growth is likely to be located in the lymphnodes nearer the head. This is not a sign that can only be seen in cases of meningitis. It can also happen at times in the early stages of a malignant tumor. If you notice this sign, it is important to act as soon as possible.
