IHOP sells “old-fashioned maple syrup” in their delectable assortment of flavors. But it’s actually maple-flavored corn sugar. The clever marketing scheme has many traditionalists up in arms. Vermont is home to the only IHOP in America that sells maple syrup. You’ll need to pay an additional 99 cents for the maple goodness.
Only the Vermont IHOP location, out of the 1,400 IHOP restaurants in Canada, the United States and Mexico, offers maple syrup. IHOP Vermont purchases its maple syrup from Sugarman confectionary in Hardwick. You’ll have to ask for maple syrup if you want it at an IHOP, as it is not on the menu.
