11. Crusty Skin
Impetigo is a common cause of crusty skin. The crusty skin may be dry or wet and is usually located on the side of the lesions. Sometimes it may also have a yellow or brown color and be tinged by blood. This may also appear around the mouth and around the eyes.
The crustiness may also spread to adjacent skin areas. Scrubbing can remove the crust, but it could damage the blister or lesion underneath. Use an antibiotic cream to treat the blisters, crusty skin and any other lesions. This will encourage the area’s healing.
