Sharknadowas mocked by everyone when it was released in 2013. But it appears that Thunder Levin had the last laugh, and maybe his films weren’t as fictional as we thought. The shark actually did fall from the sky, landing on the 12th tee at a California golf course a year before the movies were released.
San Juan Capistrano Golf Course employees were shocked when the leopard shark weighing two pounds fell onto the turf. The leopard shark was found alive and had been carried by a bird who dropped it. The cart attendants placed the fish in a bucket filled with salt water, and then drove it to Baby Beach where it was released back into its natural habitat.
6. A new underwater river found in the ocean
Location: Cenote Angelita, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico
Year 2016 Discovered
Est. Value: N/A
It may seem a bit strange to find a river in an ocean. Isn’t the entire ocean water? Be prepared to be pleasantly surprised. Divers discovered an underwater river under a cloud toxic gas near the Yucatan Peninsula.
Cenote Angelita is a huge sinkhole that’s the river’s origin. This river is said to flow 90 feet below the surface. A blanket of hydrogen-sulfide surrounds it, which would kill anyone who tried to inhale it. The noxious cloud contains petrified trees, a small skeleton and even a petrified tree. The ancient Mayans thought the Cenote Angelita to be a portal to Hell.
