All of us are familiar with the large and creepy Parisian Catacombs. What people may not know is that catacombs are found all over the world. They can even be found beneath people’s feet at Indianapolis’ City Market.
The catacombs are located under City Market. There is no public access to the catacombs. You’ll find stairs leading down to a concrete cellar if you manage to get past the security. You can then head to the catacombs where 140 columns form a labyrinthine underground maze. The brick catacombs are accessible through the basement of Tomlinson Hall. This four-story multi-purpose convention center was built in the 1800s.
