8. Dehydration

Dehydration can cause headaches because it causes the brain shrinkage as it loses water, which causes it to pull itself away from the walls of the skull. Dehydration can cause muscle weakness, indigestion and other unwanted symptoms. This may help explain other symptoms that appear in conjunction with croup.
