6. Internal Pain
If you have broken or fractured a rib in most cases, the majority of your pain will be near the injury. This is not true for all types of rib injury. In some cases, pain may extend beyond the ribs. Broken ribs can also cause internal pain. It is important to take this type of pain very seriously.
If you experience internal pain after a rib break, it could be a sign that an injury or bleeding inside the body has occurred. You should go to an emergency room immediately after an injury so that the injury can be examined and the severity of the injury determined. Tell your doctor if your pain changes or gets worse.
