13. Arthritis Flare-Ups
Many people are affected by arthritis. There is a high chance that if you have any form of arthritis, and you sustain a traumatic accident, you’ll notice an increase in your symptoms. When the body is stressed or the seasons change, flare-ups can occur.
Arthritis affects more than just the joints and bones. Technically, it is an inflammatory disorder. A traumatic event can cause inflammation and a flare up of arthritic pain. An arthritis flare-up can cause pain, decreased movement and even warmth.
It is vital to consult your doctor immediately if this occurs in conjunction with a fractured rib. Anti-inflammatory drugs can help to reduce the inflammation, and they may also relieve some of your pain.
