12. A skin rash is one of the most unusual signs of bacterial Meningitis.
As the patient’s internal temperature increases, they may start to notice changes in their skin shade. The patient will eventually see an improvement in a skin rash.
Over the eyelids, and in the folds of the skin, the patient will often develop small, flat spots. These skin rash symptoms are called petechiae by specialists. Petechiae do not have a rash on the surface of the skin. The spots are flat and may be as small as a pinhead. The spots can be removed by specialists only after they have treated the bacterial infection. When the infection is cleared, the rash will subside and the skin side effects of the rash will disappear.
