- Maintain a Clean and Dry Condition

One of the first and most essential things to do if you have contracted ringworm is to keep the affected area as clean and dry as possible, at least several times per day. Take the same precautions with ringworm as you would with a fresh piercing, and sanitize the affected area similarly.
While acquiring ringworm has nothing to do with sanitation or hygiene, it’s a good idea to keep the affected area as clean as possible as soon as you realize you have it. This can help to avoid aggravating the area and prevent it from developing into an infection.
Keeping the area clean and sterile can be accomplished with a simple alcohol application, and if repeated for several days to weeks, it may be sufficient to eliminate ringworm in its early stages.
