6. Sixth. Insomnia

Insomnia is another symptom that a person with a rotator cuff injury may experience. The primary reason for this is quite straightforward: pain makes it difficult to fall slumber and to remain asleep once asleep.
Consequently, a minor rotator cuff tear may not cause enough discomfort to induce sleeplessness. This is due to the fact that the distress is minimal and does not hinder sleep on a subconscious level. Several studies suggest that a ruptured rotator cuff may inhibit the production of melatonin, the hormone that aids in sleep.
If your body does not produce enough melatonin, falling slumber at night may be more difficult. These studies appear to have confirmed that inflammation can inhibit the production of melatonin and that inflammation may also inhibit the production of other vital hormones.
