3.A heating pad is useful when experiencing stomach discomfort.
When nighttime abdominal pain strikes, consider placing a heating pad directly on the abdomen. If possible, ensure the setting is on low and do not leave it on for more than twenty minutes.
By lowering the temperature, you can prevent burning. Heating pads are soothing and may help relieve abdominal discomfort by relaxing abdominal muscles. It has been documented that sleeping on a heating pad causes muscle stiffness in the back and other parts of the body upon waking.
If you leave the heating pad on for too long, your back will become sore and the stomach discomfort may persist. If the gastrointestinal pain doesn’t go away the first time you use it, use it multiple times per day for at least a week to determine if it’s gone.
