- Avoiding Potential Dangers
When you have a stomach-related illness, such as gastroenteritis, you should avoid potential risk factors and aggravators.
There are numerous factors that can exacerbate your symptoms, including engaging in physical activity when you should be resting, not adhering to the recommended diet for gastroenteritis, and failing to meet your body’s hydration needs during a severe infection.
As soon as you experience the first symptoms of any condition that could be gastroenteritis or something similar, you should begin averting risk factors. Typically, this involves nausea, vomiting, a loss of appetite, or a sudden fever (or all of these symptoms at once).
Maintain a high level of hydration throughout the duration of the infection, and avoid foods that may cause vomiting, nausea, or gastrointestinal upsets. This includes piquant foods and the majority of solid foods for the duration of an infection with gastroenteritis.
