5.A Hot Bath
The direct application of heat to muscle injuries is something that has been practiced for centuries, and injured athletes continue to do so today. Other than massage, administering heat is one of the first impulses you’ll feel if you’ve pulled a muscle; this is your body’s way of guiding you to the correct treatment for your injury.
Exposure to cold causes muscles to contract, as can shock and agony. All of these factors contribute to a muscle injury that is significantly more painful than it should be. The application of heat can alleviate shock, pain, and cold at the same time, accelerate wound healing, and alleviate pain almost instantaneously.
Attempt a warm bath if you are unable to relieve the discomfort and tension caused by a pulled hamstring: Remember to brace or cover up after the bath to avoid injuring a muscle that has been relaxed.
