12.Pain Treatments
Taking over-the-counter pain relievers is another option for managing earache. Ibuprofen and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can alleviate the pain produced by an earache. These medications should not be used to numb pain. This is particularly true if the earache is accompanied by another underlying condition.
If your earache is causing you constant pain, over-the-counter pain relievers can be beneficial. However, their use should not be daily. If your earache persists, you must see a doctor in order to determine the underlying cause.
Once your physician has determined the cause of your earache, a suitable treatment plan can be devised. The majority of earaches resolve on their own after a few days. If it lasts longer, your doctor will be able to assist you.
