- A tingling sensation in the extremities
The sensation of numbness or tingling in the extremities, which extends to the rest of the body, is one of the initial indications that you may be experiencing sleep paralysis.
Accompanying symptoms may also be experienced, such as the sensation of being “weighed down” by a person lying on the chest or a weighted blanket, despite the fact that there is no actual weight present. A few minutes following the onset of sensation and numbness, additional sleep paralysis symptoms are likely to emerge.
If the sensation of numbness or tingling in the legs also occurs when you are conscious, you should consider it a possible sign of something other than sleep paralysis and make an appointment with your doctor to determine what else this symptom could indicate about your health. There are numerous causes of limb numbness, including heart or circulatory conditions and diabetes. All are most effectively diagnosed when detected early.
