- Transitioning to dreams or horrors
There is a practical purpose for sleep paralysis, and there is a good reason why the body goes through this process to shut down the body and brain before sleep (while keeping the brain active with dreams during certain phases of the night).
During the transitional phase between wakefulness and sleep, not everyone is conscious or awake. Those who have suffered from slumber paralysis and its symptoms.
A small number of individuals will remain awake and aware throughout the entirety of sleep paralysis and what follows. Suddenly, the colors you see may transform into distinct shapes and objects, and you may realize you have “walked into a dream.”
This is known as lucid dreaming, and it simply means that the dreaming organism is awake and aware. It also means that you can have a great deal more enjoyment in your dreams and often determine the outcome.
