12. Being involved in an automobile collision
It is a common form of injury that causes neck pain. The law requires us to wear safety belts when traveling in a motor vehicle to reduce the risk of severe injury or death in the event of an accident. Nevertheless, the belt may secure the driver and passengers in position. However, it also poses a risk of damage.
During a sudden stop, such as a head-on collision in a vehicle, the safety belts hold the driver and passengers in their seats, preventing them from hitting the windshield. However, the belts do not entirely prevent the neck jerking associated with a head-on collision.
Consequently, both the traveler and the motorist will experience a sudden whipping of the head forward and backward, resulting in whiplash. The severity of the driver’s and passenger’s neck injuries is dependent on the pace of the collision.
