- Underlying Renal Disorders
I

n addition to diabetes and evident eye conditions, blurred vision can indicate underlying health conditions or syndromes in the body that are not related to the eyes but rather to the organs. If you have clouded vision but have no history of impaired vision in your personal or family medical history, it may not be your eyes causing the problem.
Kidney disorders and conditions are among the most prevalent causes of blurred vision that are not eye-related. You may also experience pain in the lower back or abdomen (which actually indicates renal pain), an increase in urinary tract or kidney infections, and either an increase or decrease in urination.
Consult your physician if you suspect you may have a kidney condition that compromises your health.
Occasionally, kidney function can be temporarily affected or impaired by certain medications, and because there are so many potential causes, it’s always best to consult your doctor first.
