8.Tissue Conditions
The risk factors for brain aneurysms that have been discussed thus far are the result of external physical causes. This does not imply, however, that brain aneurysms are not a concern from birth.
There are a number of congenital disorders and conditions that may indicate the presence of a brain aneurysm now or in the future. As with many maladies, these aneurysms can be inherited or acquired over time. One of these conditions is called Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. This is an inherited disorder of the connective tissues. Its primary symptom is the thinning of blood vessels, which evidently increases the risk of swelling, bulging, or ballooning.
This is not the only birth-present connective tissue disorder. If a parent is aware of their child’s disorder, they can take preventative measures.
