6.Delayed Dyskinesia
Tardive dyskinesia (also known as oral tardive dyskinesia or TD) is typically induced by antipsychotic and anticonvulsant drugs. Symptoms of this condition include involuntary facial muscle twitches, and if sufficient harm has been done, these symptoms may become permanent.
The primary treatment options for tardive dyskinesia consist of altering the patient’s current medication or reducing the dosage to the point where symptoms are no longer severe. This can sometimes impede treatment options, so it is essential to find an alternative to this treatment.
The combination of modest doses of BCAAs with general supplements such as magnesium or an excellent multivitamin has shown a great deal of promise in treating the symptoms of tardive dyskinesia.
If you suspect that you are experiencing tardive dyskinesia, make an appointment with your physician and communicate with the pharmacist.
