8.Fiber-Containing Vegetables
Some vegetables can be very difficult to digest and may trigger ulcerative colitis flare-ups. Purple blossoming broccoli is an excellent example of this. This vegetable is extremely stringy, fibrous, and stiff, making it extremely difficult to consume.
There are numerous other vegetables that can cause comparable issues. Included are items such as regular broccoli, green asparagus, cabbage, etc.
There are methods for making these vegetables more appetizing. Consider cooking them longer to soften them, consuming them in frozen or canned form, removing any seeds, and always removing the rind. Similarly, removing the fruit’s skin is typically the most effective method to avoid these issues with certain fruits. Peeling apples prior to consuming them is an excellent practice.
